Wowzer! We have continued to have days upon days chocked full to overflowing. In all that, we never lose sight of the relational aspect with the Lord. There is a temptation to get so “busy” that we disconnect from our fellowshipping with Holy Spirit and end up burning out. Even “good things” can be a distraction from the “main thing.” And, the main thing is KNOWING HIM and making HIM known. WOOT!
Okay, enough of that. On to some TESTIMONIES from the past few days!! WOO HOO!
We went to a local restaurant to grab a bite to eat and ended up getting to pray for a precious lady and her husband. She and her husband were greatly encouraged and wanted our number as they have been surrounded with people who have been “discouraging” telling her to just give up and die already. We prayed with her and after not wanting to or being able to eat ANYTHING for 5 days, we saw her eating SOLID FOOD…ROUGHAGE…right there in front of God and everyone! Not just some little broth like she was limited to in the past. And she felt great doing it! NO bad reaction whatsoever. Praise God! I thank You that all cancer is GONE, Lord. It cannot come back and her body is recovering and completely WHOLE, being strengthened in Jesus’ name! We rejoice in Your finished work!
Afterwards we went to Wal-Mart and I felt like I had a word of knowledge while I was checking out about someone’s neck and back, but the checkout lady said it wasn’t her. Long story short it was BARBARA the door lady (who we walked over to next, even though she was at the opposite entrance from where we parked). She had just gotten in a car wreck a couple of days before. She felt much better after prayer and was so excited that the Lord cared enough to send someone to her to encourage her and pray for her.
We got to hang out with a friend and his buddy who flew in from out of town to help stir up the Body. There were some other folks there as well. For time sake I’ll not go into a bunch of details, though you know me…I certainly could! LOL
The whole group of us stopped off at a girl’s house to pray for her on the way to a big “pulga” or flea market thingy. She had a bunch of issues; including but not limited to cystic fibrosis and diabetes. Our friend’s buddy also prayed for her mom, dad and had a word of knowledge for her brother as well. Then we all headed off to Trader’s Village (the pulga) and prayed for people. Sometimes we hung together, sometimes we split up…there was no set schedule or protocol Many people were touched and we saw several healings.
Right before we left, there a lady who was in a wheelchair because of a stroke. It was awesome to see her body beginning to “wake up.” I didn’t want to make a crowd so I branched off with a word of knowledge for the lady’s nephew a bit of a distance away. Turns out that the lady’s sister was EXTREMELY irate about someone praying for her sister and people watching. I was able to talk with her and just love on her and relate to her so that she didn’t seem so upset. It was good and he was able to share the love of Jesus without disruption. I wasn’t *strategically* or *deliberately* creating a diversion. I was just reaching out in love to a hurting lady, who manifested her hurt through anger. THANK YOU GOD! The BODY working TOGETHER in LOVE! Some people have been so abused and hurt by people professing to be Christians that they are leery of believers who are truly reaching out with the love of Jesus. I believe that that image is changing. Lord let me be part of the turning of the tide. May Your love reign supreme, Lord!!
We got to hang out with another dear friend to grab a bite to eat and then headed to a meeting at a hotel in the area. It was an awesome word, spoken by Todd White, and I know it touched a WHOLE LOTTA hearts. It undoubtedly touched mine! There were so many people who wanted to be prayed for that all of us were released to pray for one another. I got to pray for a precious friend and sister in Christ. I also prayed for a friend of another precious sister. He had been battling heart failure and diabetes (which he told me about) and God revealed by WOK a bunch of other stuff. God touched him and HERE IS THE BEST PART!!! He said that he has a neighbor that is a pastor who has been having terrible back problems. This man said he is going to go over and lay hands on him and get him healed!
Remember the girl that we stopped off to pray for on the way to the pulga? She was at the hotel meeting and guess what…Monday I got a phone call from one of the folks who went over there and her blood oxygen level is at 97%!! That is like “normal” people. She said she had to take the oxygen off because it was TOO MUCH! Her other “vitals” are greatly improved as well. How ‘bout that Jesus, huh? HE IS AWESOME!!!
There was much more, but that’s a little taste.
At the jail it was another sweet time. The way it went this week, it was really more of a pouring into and discipling time. What a rich time it was both in the mentoring times and the group Bible study! It is so awesome to see the lights “go on.” Guess what we talked about. Yep. The Gospel. Knowing Him and making Him known…what Jesus did to make us united in Him and why He did it.
Not many folks needed bodily healing. There were three that I do remember.
As we were waiting to be let in for a one-on-one we saw a lady that we’ve briefly talked to before. Last time we talked to her “for some reason” we shared testimonies with her about people we have first hand seen healed of Hepatitis and AIDS/HIV. She said, “Funny you would bring that up because that’s what I am facing…” She shared a lot of what went on with her. We prayed. This week when we saw her, she was just coming back from the medical floor. When asked how she was doing she said her t-cell count was up in the mid-high 600’s which was quite an increase. The HIV virus is also “undetectable” in all of the medical tests now. WOO HOO!!! JESUS!!
At the group Bible study, there was a lady who was going to excuse herself because she had an abscessed tooth. She was swelled up and in a lot of pain. As we prayed, one of the other ladies kept telling her, “You got to have faith…you got to have faith.” What a wonderful introduction to point out the verses that show that the responsibility is on the believer who is praying. Can we and should we have faith for our own healing? Absolutely, but when I’m praying for someone, they don’t have to have a lick of faith. WOOT! JESUS! C’mon now!
So we prayed and immediately the swelling started going simultaneously as the pain all left. Within just a few seconds, not even a minute, she was pushing on it and shaking her head. She went back and forth between laughing and starting to cry. She was freaking out! She kept saying, “No…I MEAN it y’all! Seriously! OOOOO JEsus!” It was really sweet.
We also prayed for another lady as she walked by to go to a visit. She had had a tooth pulled that day and was in a lot of pain. When it was time for me to go, she was still in her visit.
Alrighty then. ‘Tis time for this lady to sign off and get some other stuff done. I love you guys dearly and look forward to hearing more about what the Lord is doing in y’all’s lives. You are precious and powerful. The apple of His eye and bold as a lion. What a beautiful balance, hey? All for Jesus!
As ye go, keep on loving God and loving people…love never fails!
OH! I FORGOT A PART. I found out from one of the other inmates that an inmate who ended up being one of the most faithful "regulars" and has since moved on to another facility was previously wiccan when she first started coming to the Bible study. After sitting in on the studies for a bit, she gave her life to the Lord and is ON FIRE for Jesus. She has been DEVOURING the Word and impacting others. PRAISE GOD!!! Boy, some of those "strange" words of knowledge sure make a lot of sense now, knowing that! God knew all along. LOL
YEESH! I forgot something else I wanted to say that happened at the jail Tues night! As I was leaving, there was a lady with the cutest little puppy dog. I was able to pet the dog and very briefly exchange pleasantries with the lady. I told her doggie that I was greatly encouraged by the puppy kisses he had given me to which she said, “We need all the encouragement we can get in a place like this, right?” It look like it was going to rain, so I headed on off to my car. But, the Holy Spirit was a talking. I thought so much about hitting the road, that I didn’t give that lady what she needed…Him. So I did an about face and went back over to her. She was already pretty distraught though she appeared to be keeping it together just fine. I introduced myself and said, “It just is not right. God just wouldn’t let me go my way without coming over here to you again. Sure, I just came out of a Bible study. What good am I if I just walk past you without loving on you from the Father’s heart? Can I pray with you about anything?” She immediately started crying. She poured out the whole story of how her daughter is locked up and her grandchildren were taken into custody. I listened, and then we prayed. She cried and cried some more, and then we hugged and hugged some more. It was a divine connection. I wouldn’t be surprised if her sweet daughter comes across my path (or me across hers) soon. He’s tricky like that. I think He’s got that whole family set up for something REAL GOOD.
